An air scoop or English Scoop is an opening on the bonnet or at another location of the body , but only to a separate space (cabins, construction vehicle, transformer stations , halls, etc.). Its purpose is to allow air to enter through the airstream or to ensure an exchange of air by using the natural air flow (wind) .

In the case of powerful engines, air scoops provide additional cooling or facilitate the air supply to the engine . They are very popular in the tuning scene , but mostly have no technical function at all, just a purely visual function, giving the vehicle a sporty note.
