Lupal ( Lupai ) is an East Timorese Suco in the administrative office of Lolotoe ( Bobonaro municipality ).

Before the 2015 regional reform, Lupal had an area of ​​24.63 km². Now there are 21.13 km². The Suco is located in the southeast of the administrative office of Lolotoe. To the south-west is the Suco Opa , north-west Deudet and north Guda . To the east and south, Lupal borders on the municipality of Cova Lima with its Sucos Beco and Labarai ( Suai administrative office ). The River Foura flows along part of the border with Opa .

In the narrow strip of Lupal in the west between Deudet and Opa is the village of Ames ( Amis ), a little further east is the town of Tapo . The villages of Silagolo and Dilai are located near the center . The village of Anon is on the eastern border . There are primary schools in Ames, Silagolo ( Escola Primaria Silagolo ) and Dilai. Silagolo also has a medical post. For the parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2007 , the ballot boxes for Lupal had to be transported with horses and porters.

In the Suco are the three Aldeias Dilai , Lupaltaz and Silagolo .

Residents

The Suco has 1058 inhabitants (2015), of which 525 are men and 533 women. The population density is 50.1 inhabitants / km². There are 216 households in the Suco. More than 95% of the residents state Bunak as their mother tongue. the rest of the population speaks Tetum Prasa .

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , António Lopes was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections , Martinho de Jesus won .
