Lydia Westrich

Lydia Maria Elisabeth Westrich , b. Rockenmaier (born October 21, 1949 in Hafenlohr , Lower Franconia ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Lydia Westrich left the grammar school in 1966 with the secondary school leaving certificate and then completed an apprenticeship in the middle service of the state finance administration of Bavaria at the tax office Marktheidenfeld , where she worked until 1973. She then worked from 1974 to 1990 at the Pirmasens tax office .

Lydia Westrich is married.

Political career

Lydia Westrich joined the SPD in 1974 and is a member of the SPD party council. Since 1979 she has been a member of the Herschberg municipal council and, since 1984, the municipal council of the Wallhalben municipality . From 1989 to 1994 she was also a member of the district council of the Pirmasens district . From 2009 she was the local mayor of Herschberg.

From 1990 to 2009 she was a member of the German Bundestag . From 2002 to 2005 she was spokeswoman for the Rhineland-Palatinate regional group in the SPD parliamentary group . From March 2006 she was deputy spokeswoman for the parliamentary group working on the Enquête Commission on Culture in Germany .

Lydia Westrich entered the Bundestag in 1998 as a directly elected member of the Pirmasens constituency and otherwise always through the Rhineland-Palatinate state list.
