Lyndsey Fry (born October 30, 1992 in Mesa , Arizona ) is an American ice hockey and inline hockey player . Fry was a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team from 2012 to 2014 and won the world championship and silver medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics .

Career

Fry was born in the state of Arizona and spent her high school there at the Arizona Connections Academy . She played ice hockey with the Chandler Polar Bears in her hometown and with the Colorado Selects . As a youth player, the striker took part in the US U18 women's selection in 2009 and 2010 in the U18 World Junior Championship. She won a gold and a silver medal. For the 2010/11 school year it attracted Fry at the Harvard University , where she with a break pursued in the next five years studying and parallel to the Hockey team of the University in the ECAC Hockey , a Division in the game operation of the National Collegiate Athletic Association , ran aground .

In the service of the Crimson , the offensive player was nominated for the first time for the women's national ice hockey team of the United States at the beginning of the 2012/13 season and took part in the 4 Nations Cup 2012 with them. In the same season, she also completed the 2013 World Cup with the team , where she won the gold medal with the Americans . Before starting her fourth and final year of study, Fry left university and signed up for the US Ice Hockey Association USA Hockey in preparation for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi . There she won the Olympic silver medal with the team. Following this success, the offensive player returned to Harvard University for the 2014/15 school year and subsequently completed her studies.

As a result, Fry decided not to switch to professional life, but instead devoted himself to the nationwide training and promotion of young girls in ice hockey with the help of the Lyndsey Fry Hockey Camps she had set up . Personally, Fry put her focus on inline hockey . She has been a member of the United States' national women's inline hockey team since 2016 and took part in the 2016 World Championship of the Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS). There she won the silver medal. In addition, she works as a trainer for the U18 team.
