Maeen Abdul Malek

Maeen Abdul Malek ( Arabic معين عبد الملك سعيد, DMG Maʿīn ʿAbd al-Malik Saʿīd ; * 1976 in Taizz ) is a Yemeni politician who has been Prime Minister of Yemen since October 18, 2018. Before that he was Minister of Public Works and Roads.

biography

Malek received a Ph.D. in architecture and design theory at the University of Cairo and then worked as an architect. He was employed in a consultancy group in Cairo in the area of ​​planning and construction. He also served as an assistant professor in the Faculty of Engineering at Dhamar University . Later he became part of a government delegation that led peace talks with the Houthi rebels in Kuwait and Switzerland (national dialogue), which took place because of the civil war in Yemen .

He was appointed Prime Minister of Yemen in 2018 as part of a humanitarian crisis, replacing Ahmed Obeid bin Daghr . Malek is considered a technocrat with contacts to various political groups in the country.
