Magonids

A royal dynasty of Carthage called itself the Magonids , whose ancestor and namesake Mago I (King of Carthage from 550 BC to 530 BC) was.

The time of the Magonids was mainly characterized by a colonizing expansion policy. The Carthaginians founded their first colonies in the Balearic Islands , Corsica and on the southwestern coast of Spain . In addition, they introduced mercenary armies , whereby the Carthaginian hegemony in Sardinia could be restored. The Magonids ruled aristocratically , monarchically and tyrannically .
