Malindo Air (officially Malindo Airways ) is a Malaysian low-cost airline based in Petaling Jaya and based at Kuala Lumpur Airport . The name derives from Malindo time Aysia and Indo nesia from.

history

Malindo Air was founded on September 12, 2012 as a joint venture between National Aerospace and Defense Industries (NADI) (51%) from Malaysia and Lion Air from Indonesia (49%). The first take-off was announced for May 2013, but the new airline started its first flight in mid-March 2013 with domestic flights in Malaysia.

On May 16, 2017, Malindo Air was the first airline in the world to take delivery of a Boeing 737-MAX ( registration number 9M-LRC ).

Destinations

Malindo Air offers flights across Asia . The airports in Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Lumpur-Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah serve as hubs . There are flights within Malaysia as well as to Southeast , East and Australasia .
