Manfred Grote

Manfred Grote (* 1928 ; † 2000 ) was a German actor and voice actor .

Life

The stage actor Grote rarely appeared in film and television. In 1950 he was already seen in the DEFA film Semmelweis - Savior of Mothers . Later he played in Der eiserne Gustav (1958 with Heinz Rühmann ), ... and that on Monday morning (1959 with OW Fischer ), 1960 in Die 1000 Augen des Dr. Mabuse and in 1964 in The Monster of London City . He played a leading role in the series Die Laubenpieper from 1963 and a guest role in Um Haus und Hof .

In the 1950s he took part repeatedly in summer in the open-air performances on the Loreley rock near St. Goarshausen, led by Karl Siebold, among others as Rudenz in Wilhelm Tell and as Kosinsky in Die Räuber .

He belonged to the dubbing guild in (West) Berlin and was mostly used in supporting roles, for example for Ben Johnson ( The Lonely One ) or Claude Akins ( Hell's End ). His best-known synchronized roles include Stavros, played by George Savalas in the well-known series Kojak - Einsatz in Manhattan and the character Kono Kalakaua, played by Zulu in the Hawaii five-zero series . He was also heard in the films Bananas , Airport , Shaft in Africa , The Way to the West or In Bad Company . He spoke one of his few leading roles in the film The Revenge of the Sicilian , where he dubbed Bud Spencer . Although the protagonist part is mainly filled by two children, Spencer plays the central adult role who dominates the action towards the end of the film.

Children should be familiar with Grote's voice from the radio play series Benjamin Blümchen and Bibi Blocksberg , in which he spoke several roles, or from Kimba, the white lion and Jan Tenner . At the end of the 1980s there were the last occupations with him that he cast in radio plays and episode roles in series such as The Denver Clan or The Cases of Harry Fox .
