Manfred Srb

Manfred Srb (born June 5, 1941 in Stockerau ) is a former Austrian politician ( Die Grünen ) and qualified social worker.

education and profession

Srb developed polio at the age of eight and has been a wheelchair user ever since . After attending compulsory school and the federal trade school for the handicapped, he worked for the City of Vienna from 1963 to 1979. From 1975 to 1978 Srb studied social work at the Social Academy in Vienna and in 1979 worked in the socio-pedagogical field at the Vienna City Youth Center.

From 1964, Manfred Srb was involved in the disabled movement, such as the Austrian Civil Disabled Association, the Young Disabled Club, the Handicap Club and the Autonomous Life Movement. Srb has been a volunteer at "BIZEPS - Center for Self-Determined Living" since 1994.

politics

By participating in the working group for the disabled in the Alternative List of Austria , Srb became politically active. He entered parliament in 1986 via the Freda Meissner-Blau list and was a member of it from December 17, 1986 to May 3, 1994. Srb was the Disability Spokesperson for the Greens.
