Marc Perrin de Brichambaut (born October 29, 1948 in Rabat , Morocco ) is a French lawyer and diplomat and has been a judge at the International Criminal Court in The Hague since 2015 .

Marc Perrin de Brichambaut was born in Morocco . He graduated from the French École nationale d'administration in Paris in 1974.

Before he became OSCE Secretary General, he held senior positions in the French administration and in international organizations. a. in the UN. He was also an advisor to the French Foreign Minister Claude Cheysson .

In 1983 and 1984 he was the Chief Human Resources Officer of Roland Dumas , Minister for European Affairs, and continued to serve Dumas when he became Foreign Minister.

In 1986 Marc Perrin de Brichambaut moved to New York and worked as a cultural ambassador for the French embassy. In 1988 he returned to Paris as an advisor to Defense Minister Jean-Pierre Chevènement .

From 1991 to 1994 de Brichambaut was the head of the French delegation to the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe in Vienna and from 1994 to 1998 he headed the legal department of the French Foreign Ministry.

He was then head of strategic affairs in the French Ministry of Defense.

From June 2005 to 2011 he was Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) .
