Marcel Chappin
Marcel Chappin SJ (born August 31, 1943 in Nijmegen ) is a Dutch Roman Catholic priest and theologian .
Life
In 1961 he joined the Jesuits. He studied history and theology in Amsterdam and Rome. He graduated from Gregorian University . Since 1981 he has been teaching modern and contemporary church history at the same university. From 1994 to 2001 he was an archivist at the university.
From 1996 to 2010 he headed the historical archive of the Secretariat for Relations with States, one of the two parts of the State Secretariat of the Holy See. In 2007 Pope Benedict XVI appointed made him Vice-Prefect of the Vatican Secret Archives under Prefect Sergio Pagano .
