Marcel Mathier

Marcel Mathier (born November 25, 1936 ) is a Swiss lawyer, notary and sports official.

Life

Mathier studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1964 . He is a member of the Swiss Bar Association and later also worked as a notary . Mathier was also a player in the 3rd Swiss Football League .

He lives in Sierre .

Sports official

Mathier became a member of the board of the Valais Football Association (WFV) in 1965. From 1977 to 1986 he was President of the WFV. In 1981 Mathier was appointed to the board of the Swiss Football Association (SVF). From 1993 to 2001 he was president of the SFV. Mathier was later appointed honorary president of the football association.

Mathier was also involved with FIFA for 15 years , including as Chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee.
