Marcel Ruijters

Marcel Ruijters (born 1966 ) is a Dutch comic book writer and illustrator.

Life

Marcel Ruijters grew up in the south of the Netherlands and attended an art school. His first publications were self-published. His comics appeared in publications on the alternative scene in the Netherlands and abroad. The comic adaptation of Dante's Inferno received the award for best Dutch comic in 2008.

The “Jheronimus Bosch 500” foundation commissioned him to write a graphic novel about the life of Hieronymus Bosch for the 2016 anniversary year . In 2015 he was awarded the Stripschapprijs for his complete work.

Ruijters lives and works in Rotterdam .
