Marco Greco

Marco Greco (born December 1, 1963 in São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian automobile racing driver .

Career

Marco Greco drove in British Formula 3 in 1987 . Then he got promoted to Formula 3000 and competed there from 1988 to 1990. From 1989 to 1991 he also drove in the British Formula 3000. In 1992 he moved to America in the Indy Lights series . From 1993 to 1996 he competed in the Indy Car World Series . He completed a full season in 1993 for Sovereign Motorsports and 1994 for Arciero Racing . In 1995 and 1996 he drove for Dick Simon Racing , Galles Racing and Team Scandia , but not for the entire season. 29th place overall in 1995 was his best final result.

From 1996 to 1999 he started in the Indy Racing League . 1997 he was together with Eddie Cheever third overall in the championship. In this racing series he was able to conquer a pole position in 23 starts.

He went to the Indianapolis 500 four times , with his best result in 1998 with 14th place.
