Marco Holz (born January 31, 1990 in Deggendorf ) is a German football player .

Career

Marco Holz comes from Offenberg in Lower Bavaria and started playing football at the sports club in the Neuhausen district . He further developed his talent at SpVgg Ruhmannsfelden and SpVgg Grün-Weiß Deggendorf before TSV 1860 Munich brought him into his youth. However, he only stayed there until the age of 16 and then went to SV Wacker Burghausen .

There he played in youth for three years. In his first A-youth year he still had difficulties asserting himself in the junior national league, but after relegation he developed into a leading player. Towards the end of the season, the right defender even came to two missions over 90 minutes in the professional team in the third division after staff shortages.

The following year he still needed some start-up time, but was then used almost consistently in the first team in the second half of the season. The 2010/11 season was turbulent, however, especially the defensive performance brought the club to a relegation zone. Therefore, a lot of changes were made in defense and Holz only made 21 appearances, with the majority of the games being substituted in or out.

After Wacker had to relegate from the third division after the 2013/14 season , Holz switched to Energie Cottbus , who were relegated from the second division to the third division after this season . He signed a two-year contract with the Brandenburgers and scored his first goal for Cottbus on matchday 35 of the 2014/15 season in a 3: 3 away game against Spielvereinigung Unterhaching . In the 2015/16 season , on matchday 13, he scored the winning goal for Energie's 1-0 away win at the previously undefeated leaders Dynamo Dresden . After relegation from the third division, Holz left FC Energie and joined the regional division 1. FC Saarbrücken .

After three years, Holz left 1.FC Saarbrücken and signed a contract with Regionalliga-promoted Türkgücü Munich for the 2019/20 season .
