Marco Köfler (born November 14, 1990 ) is an Austrian football player on the position of a defender .
Career
Köfler began his career at TSU Matrei in East Tyrol . In 2005 he moved to FC Waidhofen / Ybbs , where he was active in the youth department until 2008.
He made his debut for the Waidhofen first team in the Regionalliga Ost on May 5, 2007 against the amateurs of Admira Wacker Mödling , when he replaced Thomas Stollberger in the 81st minute . By the end of the 2008/09 season he came to 17 games in the Regionalliga Ost. In 2009 he returned to Tyrol and signed a contract with FC Wacker Innsbruck . In the first season Köfler was still active with the amateurs. In the following season he was also in the amateur squad, but was able to book four appearances with the first team in the Bundesliga . Köfler made his debut in the top Austrian league on May 11, 2011 against SV Ried . He equalized 1-1 on his debut in the 90th minute after being substituted on for Andreas Bammer in the 82nd minute . Another three appearances in the Bundesliga followed. The Innsbruck were at the end of sixth in the final table of the Bundesliga. In 2013 he moved to Kapfenberger SV , where he made 32 appearances in the 2013/14 season. He then went to Switzerland for FC Winterthur , where he played from 2014 to 2016. From the summer of 2016 Köfler was without a club for half a year, but he was hired by the Austrian regional league club SV Lafnitz in January 2017 . With the Styrians he was able to move up to the 2nd division in 2017/18 .
After the 2018/19 season he left Lafnitz and moved to the regional league team Deutschlandsberger SC . In the canceled 2019/20 season, he made 16 regional league appearances for the DSC. For the 2020/21 season, Köfler joined league rivals FC Gleisdorf 09 .
