When the Bution monastery was lost, the monks moved to Marcoussis at the beginning of the 12th century. At the end of the 13th century, a monk lived here with a population of 120.

From 1404 to 1408, Jean de Montaigu , the adviser to Charles VI. , build his castle here, of which only the foundation walls of a tower, Les Oubliettes, are left today, rebuild the monastery and fill it with Celestine monks , and restore the parish church, which today houses a marble statue of Mary, Duke Johann von Berry gave to the convent.
