Marescot Ridge is a mountain ridge in the north of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It consists of a series of icy mountains and rises 3 km inland from Marescot Point on the northwest coast of the Trinity Peninsula .
Presumably, the French polar explorer Jules Dumont d'Urville sighted the mountain ridge on February 27, 1838 during the Third French Antarctic Expedition (1837-1840) when he named Cape Marescot (now Marescot Point ). The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey named the mountain ridge following the survey work carried out in 1946 based on the name of the headland of the same name. Both objects are named after Jacques Marie Eugène Marescot du Thilleul (1810–1839), officer on board the Astrolabe during d'Urville's expedition, who died on November 23, 1839 on this ship.
