Marianne Pettersen (born April 12, 1975 in Oslo ) is a former Norwegian soccer player who was also active for the Norwegian national team from 1994 to 2003 .

Career

societies

Pettersen played most of her professional career for the Norwegian club Asker FK . In 2001 she moved to England and played there for the women's football division of Fulham FC . In 2003 Pettersen ended her career as an active soccer player and returned to Asker four years later as a fitness trainer and assistant to Eli Landsem . Due to bad luck with injuries within the team, she made her comeback as a player in the same year and ended her engagement as assistant coach.

National team

Pettersen took in the years 1996 and 2000 at the Olympic Games and won there with her team the bronze or gold medal. She also played at the 1995 World Cup , where Norway won the title, as well as the 1999 and 2003 World Cups . Pettersen completed a total of 98 games for the Norwegian national team between 1994 and 2003, scoring 66 goals. This made her the most successful goalscorer in the Norwegian selection until October 8, 2019, and was then replaced by Isabell Herlovsen , who required 133 international matches.
