Marie Burchard (* 6. October 1982 in Bonn ) is a German actress .

Life

Burchard grew up in Chavenay in the French region of Île-de-France . After graduating from high school, she moved to Berlin and studied from 2004 to 2008 at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. Her first engagements and work took her to the bat Berlin ( Three Sisters , 3.1.) And the Maxim-Gorki-Theater (The Heron Queen), among others . The director Andrea Breth cast Burchard in 2008 as Dunja in her Dostoevsky adaptation Crime and Punishment for the Salzburg Festival and had her appear in the role of Eve in the Zerbrochnen Krug as the protagonist of her production for the Ruhrtriennale 2009 in Essen . For this portrayal, Burchard received mostly praise from the critics.

From 2008 to 2010 Marie Burchard was a member of the ensemble of the National Theater Weimar , where she played the role of Medea in Nora Schlocker's production of Grillparzer's drama Das goldene Vlies . In 2013 she was again on the stage of the DNT Weimar as Beatrice in the interdisciplinary opera and drama production Benedict et Beatrice . In 2014 she took on a role at the Renaissance Theater Berlin for the first time: she played Marie Louise Durham in the Somerset Maugham production “The Ideal Woman”. Directed by Antoine Uidehaag.

In addition to her theater career, Burchard also frequently works for film and television. She played a leading role in the 2010 feature film The Last Lie by Jonas Grosch and appeared in formats such as Between the Lines (ARD), Der Kriminalist (ZDF) and Notruf Hafenkante (ZDF). In 2015 she played the leading role in the SAT1 body switch comedy "Verliebt Verlobt Vertausch" and she took on one of the leading roles in Marius von Mayenburg's comedy "Stück Plastik" at the Schaubühne Berlin. She is now a member of the Schaubühne ensemble and shoots for cinema and TV during breaks in the theater.

Marie Burchard is the sister of the actress Bettina Burchard and the art historian Wolf Burchard . She is married to her colleague Sebastian Schwarz , with whom she has two children and lives in Berlin.
