Marie Richardson
Marie Elisabet Richardson (born June 6, 1959 in Ljusdal , Sweden ) is a Swedish film and theater actress .
Life
Marie Richardson is a permanent member of the Royal Dramatic Theater in Stockholm and only began her film career in 1987. She played in Önskas (1991), the film adaptation of the Kommissar Beck novel Polis, polis, potatismos! (1993) and Gossip (2000) together with Rolf Lassgård , at whose side she can be seen since 2002 as police officer Maja Thysell in the film adaptations of the Wallander novels by Henning Mankell . The role of Maja Thysell , which does not appear in the novels, was created at the request of the director Birger Larsen , who attached great importance to a collaboration with Marie Richardson. In 1999 she starred in a supporting role in Stanley Kubrick's latest film Eyes Wide Shut, alongside Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. She also had numerous guest appearances in Swedish television series such as Skärgardsdoktorn or Glöm inte mamma! .
Richardson has lived with the actor Jakob Eklund for a long time . Both often appear together in front of the camera. She plays his film partner Helén in his appearances as Johan Falk ( Johan Falk Trilogy , GSI - Special Unit Göteborg ).
Eklund and Richardson have two children together (1995 and 2000) and have been married since 2008. Eklund also has another child (1980) from a previous relationship.
