Marie de Hennezel (born August 5, 1946 in Lyon ) is a French psychologist , psychotherapist and non-fiction author .

From 1987 to 1997 she worked in the first French palliative care facility at the Hôpital international de la Cité universitaire in Paris . She worked with Health Ministers Jean-François Mattéi and Xavier Bertrand . She is an officer in the Legion of Honor . She advocates a form of passive euthanasia .
