Marika Gombitová
Marika Gombitová (born September 12, 1956 in Turany nad Ondavou , Czechoslovakia ; actually Mária Gombitová ) is a Slovak pop singer and composer .
Life
In the late 1970s she sang with the Modus group . Her career was interrupted by a car accident on an icy road near Brno on November 30, 1980, when Gombitová became paralyzed. She returned to the audience after half a year. At the end of the 1990s she withdrew into private life. Their songs are played on Slovak and Czech radio. Her interpretation of the song Vyznanie (The Confession) was voted hit of the century by Slovak TV viewers in 2007.
