Mario Pino
Mario Pino Quivira (born September 22, 1952 ) is a Chilean geologist . He is Professor at the Universidad Austral de Chile in Valdivia and Dean of the Faculty of Science. In 1977, together with Tom Dillehay, he played a key role in the excavation of the Monte Verde archaeological site .
From 1970 to 1976 Pino initially studied geology in Valdivia. In 1984 he went to the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Munster , where he 1987 on stratigraphy, grain size and heavy mineral analysis of the Miocene silikoklastichen deposit the province of Valdivia, southern Chile Dr. rer. nat. PhD.
