Markus Dohle (born June 28, 1968 in Arnsberg ) is a member of the Executive Board of Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA and Chief Executive Officer of the Penguin Random House publishing group .

Career

Dohle studied industrial engineering at the University of Karlsruhe (TH) and graduated with a degree in industrial engineering. Immediately after completing his studies (1994), he joined the Arvato subsidiary Vereinigte Verlagsausgabe (VVA) as an assistant to the management and was appointed division manager of the same a year later.

In 1998 Dohle became product line manager at VVA and at the same time switched to the management of Bertelsmann Medien Service GmbH. Two years later he was appointed managing director of Medienvertrieb und Logistik GmbH (MvL). In the course of Edwin Eichler's move to the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp AG , Dohle took over as CEO of the Mohn Media Group on October 1, 2002 .

In January 2006, Dohle also became a member of the Board of Management of arvato AG and has since been responsible for the arvato print division and its printing activities in Germany and Western Europe.

On June 1, 2008, Dohle took over the global corporate chairmanship of Random House, replacing the long-standing CEO Peter Olson. At the same time he was promoted to the Bertelsmann executive board.

Dohle was awarded the Friends of the Jerusalem Book Fair.

Private

Jackdaw currently lives in New York City , is married and has two children.
