Marmarole is the name of a mountain group in the Cadoran Dolomites , Italy , southeast of Cortina and south of the Sexten Dolomites and the Ansieital. The highest peak is the Cimon del Froppa ( 2932 m slm ), other higher elevations are the Cima Bastioni ( 2926 m slm ) and the Pala di Meduce ( 2864 m slm ).
Due to the peripheral location of the refuges, in the group itself there are only a few bivouac boxes , as well as the lack of climbing aids, the Marmarole is considered comparatively wild and undeveloped compared to other mountain groups in the Dolomites. The Dolomites high path number 5 leads through the massif , it uses the so-called Strada Sanmarchi over long distances , which is more of a marked route than a mountain path.
