Marne-la-Vallée is the name of one of five Villes nouvelles in the greater Paris area. It is located east of Paris . The association of municipalities emerged on August 17, 1972 from the merger of 27 communes from the departments of Seine-et-Marne , Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne . The inhabitants call themselves Marnovalliens .

Marne-la-Vallée is located around 30 kilometers east of Paris and covers an area of 17,124 hectares.

Facilities
The Marne-La-Vallée University , Disneyland Paris (1992), three shopping centers ( Val d'Europe , Arcades and Bay 1 + 2 ), the TGV train station Marne belong to the area with over a quarter of a million inhabitants (1999) on 15,215 hectares -la-Vallée - Chessy and a prêt-à-porter shopping village ( La Vallée Village ) and a Sea Life Center . Several administrations of internationally known companies have their French headquarters here.
