occupation

Martin (Italian title: Wampyr ) is an American horror film by director George A. Romero from 1977. The director wrote the script himself.

action

Martin has a necrophilic tendency: he kills women, then has sexual intercourse with them and drinks their blood. For this reason, his strict Catholic cousin Cuda wants to destroy him, because he thinks Martin is a vampire . A sexual relationship with Mrs. Santini takes away Martin's desire to kill. Cuda, who keeps getting deeper into the idea that Martin is a vampire, ultimately stakes him.

criticism

The reviews of Martin were mostly positive. For example, the lexicon of international film judged :

“Ambitious horror film that doesn't drown in rivers of blood. Designed as a social criticism and a criticism of the genre at the same time. "
