Emmrich has so far been particularly successful in doubles. He has already won 15 titles on the Challenger Tour , seven of them with his Swedish partner Andreas Siljeström . Emmrich has also been playing on the ATP Tour since 2011 . He made his debut in a Grand Slam tournament at the US Open ; there he reached the second round with Siljeström, in which they were defeated by Xavier Malisse and Mark Knowles 3: 6, 3: 6. Emmrich achieved his first major success in 2012 in Belgrade , where he entered his first ATP final with Andreas Siljeström. There they were defeated by the Israelis Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram, despite the leadership . In October Emmrich surpassed this result in Vienna when he won the tournament together with Andre Begemann . In the 2013 season he had his final breakthrough on the World Tour; with Andre Begemann he reached the Chennai and 's-Hertogenbosch finals . In Düsseldorf they won their second joint title with a final victory over Treat Huey and Dominic Inglot . In August, the third title followed alongside Christopher Kas when they won the tournament in Kitzbühel . Due to these successes, he moved up to 35th place in the world rankings, making him the best German in the double world rankings at times.
Since mid-2015 Emmrich has been suffering from a complicated shoulder injury that prevents him from playing. He may therefore consider ending his career after being listed as inactive on the ATP homepage. His last tournament was qualifying for Wimbledon 2015 .
