Martin Krupinski

Martin Krupinski (* 1961 in Miesbach ) is a German psychiatrist and head of the department for forensic psychiatry at the University Hospital of Würzburg .

Life

He completed his studies of medicine at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the University of Edinburgh , which he began in 1982 . With a work on the history of psychiatry on schizophrenia , he obtained the degree of doctor of medicine from the University of Munich.

In Munich he also received his training as a specialist in psychiatry with additional qualifications in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis . In addition, he trained in neurology at the Friedrich Baur Institute in Munich . He obtained his habilitation in 2001. In Munich he was Norbert Nedopil's deputy as head of the forensic psychiatry department at the university clinic until he moved to Würzburg .

Krupinski has been a professor at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg since 2001 and heads the forensic psychiatry department at the university hospital that was established in 1998.

Areas of interest

In research, the focus of Krupinski's interests lies in the area of aggression and the possibilities of treating its pathological manifestations in criminals. He pays special attention to a special form of pathologically aggressive behavior, the Münchhausen proxy syndrome.

Krupinski appears in court as a psychiatric expert . Krupinski puts another part of his research into the service of quality improvement and quality assurance in psychiatric assessments.
