Marvin Hatley

Marvin Hatley (born April 3, 1905 in Reed , Oklahoma , † August 23, 1986 in Los Angeles , California ; actually Thomas Marvin Hatley ) was an American film actor , screenwriter and composer of film scores.

Life

Hatley came to Hollywood in the 1920s , where he first worked as an actor and screenwriter for Hal Roach . Later he wrote and composed the music for numerous films and worked as musical director for the respective filming. His best-known works are the score tracks for films by the comedian duo Laurel & Hardy . Hatley was the composer of the Dance of the Cuckoos , which was first introduced in 1930 in the short film Happy Childhood ( Brats ) and which was to become the theme song for films by the comedian duo.
