Marvin Worth

Marvin Worth (born June 6, 1925 in New York City , † April 22, 1998 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American screenwriter and film producer .

Life

Worth initially worked as a promoter for concerts. Then he became the manager of Lenny Bruce . In the 1950s he wrote lyrics for comedians like Buddy Hackett . During this decade he also began his career in the film business, initially as a screenwriter. He was mainly involved in various television series until the 1960s, including two episodes of the Mini-Max series . The script of the movie Sexy! (1962) is based on a story by Worth. From 1970, starting with Where is' Papa? , he worked as a film producer.

Worth was twice nominated for an Oscar . First in 1973 for the production of Malcolm X in the category Best Documentary . And again in 1975 for the film Lenny in the Best Picture category .

In 1985 he was nominated for the Golden Raspberry for the film Der Hochstarter .

Worth died of complications from lung cancer . He was married and had three children.
