Matisse & Sadko is a Russian DJ duo consisting of the two brothers Alexander and Yury Parkhomenko. They achieved fame through their collaboration with the Dutch DJ and producer Martin Garrix , to whose record label " STMPD RCRDS " they have been under contract since 2015. In the same year they released the singles Break Through The Silence and Dragon with Garrix , with which they could celebrate their breakthrough in the EDM scene. They also produced official remixes for artists like Galantis and Afrojack .

Career

Alexander Parkhomenko and Yury Parkhomenko were both active as solo artists for several years, Alexander as Matisse and Yury as Sadko, until in 2010 they transformed their previous pseudonyms into a joint project. They sent several productions to various record labels, whereupon these were signed by, among others, Armada Zouk and Refune Music. They released their debut single Svenska on June 27, 2011. This was followed by the song Hi Scandinavia , which gave them a place in various dance charts for the first time. On March 5, 2012 they released the song Trio , which was recorded in collaboration with Russian DJ and producer Arty . With this they could draw attention to themselves for the first time; the track support received from among others the Swedish House Mafia , Alesso and Dirty South .

On August 12, 2013 Matisse & Sadko released the song SLVR on Angello's record label Size Records together with the Swedish DJ and producer Steve Angello . Singles like Sigure , Stars and Persia followed before they met the Dutch DJ Martin Garrix. With this they produced the song Dragon , which was played for the first time in August 2014. The following year they released the song together with the EP Break Through the Silence which also contained the track of the same name. Both songs developed into commercial successes, sometimes reaching over 20 million streams on Spotify .

For the 2016 Ice Hockey World Championship , Matisse & Sadko produced the official anthem Go! , which was the first release on her own record label "Monomark Music". The song Machine Gun followed on October 1, 2016 . With the song Together appeared another collaboration with Martin Garrix, which was part of his EP Seven . The song Ya Amar was characterized by influences of Arabic sounds.

On October 20, 2017, the instrumental piece Forever , which was created in collaboration with Martin Garrix, was released via STMPD RCRDS. The track was originally premiered by Garrix during the Creamfields Festival 2017. The publication took place one day before the evaluation of the DJ Mag Top 100 . On November 24, 2017, they released the song Witchcraft via Monomark. The song Into You was the first future bass production. At the end of the year they released a remix for the song Dreamer by Axwell Λ Ingrosso . Due to its proximity to the unpublished original version of Dreamer, this developed into a success and gained several million clicks on both YouTube and Spotify.

On March 27, 2018, Matisse & Sadko released the song Dawnbreaker , which was co-created with the Dutch DJ and producer Tiësto and which was part of his EP I Like It Loud . The track was played for the first time shortly before at the Ultra Music Festival 2018. On May 4, 2018, Grizzly, a fusion of groove, progressive and bass house followed. In June 2018, the indie music influenced song Built For Us followed . After his appearance at the Tomorrowland Festival in July 2018, Martin Garrix released the song High on Life , for which Matisse & Sadko supported him in the songwriting and production. This reached the singles charts in many European countries as well as 16 of the US Billboard dance charts. They were also involved in Garrix Single Dreamer . The electro house track saga followed in August 2018 via STMPD .

In March 2019 the song Mistaken was released , which they recorded in collaboration with Martin Garrix and singer Alex Aris. In addition to the more commercial original version, a more aggressively designed club version was also released. The track could not follow the success of High on Life , but still reached around 20 million streams on Spotify.
