Matthias Aeschbacher

Matthias Aeschbacher (born April 14, 1945 in Zurich ) is a Swiss conductor .

Life

Aeschbacher was born the son of the pianist Adrian Aeschbacher , who was also his first teacher.

From 1964 he was répétiteur at the Zurich Opera House , and in 1968 he became Kapellmeister. In 1976 he became musical director at the stages of the city of Essen . From 1978 to 1987 Aeschbacher worked as general music director, opera director and head of the municipal concert industry in Lübeck. From 1991 to 1997 Aeschbacher was the first conductor at the Musiktheater Essen.
