Max Hummel (architect, 1875)

Max Hummel (born December 17, 1875 in Rastatt ; † January 22, 1939 in Darmstadt ) was a German architect and university professor .

Life

Max Hummel was born in 1875 as the son of the veterinarian Guido Hummel and his wife Katharina. Aydt was born in Rastatt. He studied architecture at the Technical University of Karlsruhe , a. a. as a student of Carl Schäfer and Josef Durm . From 1908 to 1922 he worked with Ernst Rothe (1875–1941) in the Hummel und Rothe architectural office in Kassel . In Kassel he was most recently a teacher at the state building trade school. On October 1, 1922, he was appointed to succeed Friedrich Pützer as Professor of Architecture and Building Science at the Technical University of Darmstadt . From 1924 to 1926 he was dean of the architecture department.

Max Hummel died unexpectedly in January 1939. He had been married to Marie Körner from Kassel since 1907.
