Max Lang (* 1982 ) is a German director .

Life

Lang comes from Rheinberg and started studying animation at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in 2005 . He works for the animation studio Studio Soi, founded in 2002 .

Together with Jakob Schuh , he directed the animated film Der Grüffelo in 2009 , for which he wrote the screenplay based on Julia Donaldson 's children's book of the same name . The film received the Tricks for Kids Award for the best children's animated film at the Stuttgart Animated Film Festival in 2010 and was nominated for an Oscar and a BAFTA Award in 2011 in the category of best animated short film . He also won two prizes at the Prix ​​Jeunesse . From 2011 to 2012, Lang worked with Jan Lachauer on the film adaptation of the children's book Für Hund und Katz ist also Platz , also by Julia Donaldson. The film was nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Short Film in 2014.
