Maximilian Kolbe House (Gdansk)
The Maximilian Kolbe House (Polish: Dom Pojednania i Spotkań im. Św. Maksymiliana M. Kolbego , DMK for short ) in Gdansk is an educational and meeting place sponsored by the Franciscan Order . It is the seat of a central office of the German-Polish Youth Office , which organizes projects in northern Poland from here. In addition to meeting rooms, it offers 50 beds, mainly in multi-bed rooms.
The house was built in 1992 with the support of the Federal Republic of Germany , the dioceses of Essen , Munich and Cologne and the Eastern Priest Aid . The dedication for the construction of the building reads after a quote from the canonized Catholic priest Maximilian Kolbe : "Tylko miłość jest twórcza siła - only love is the creative force".
