Mayfair Games

Mayfair Games was a publisher founded by Darwin Bromley in Chicago in the early 1981 years , which publishes board, card, dice and role-playing games. Railway games such as the 18XX series were a special publishing segment .

A large part of the games published were licensed products, in particular from Franckh-Kosmos- Verlag. Since 1996, the games in the Catan series have been published in English translation by Mayfair. Since 2003 Mayfair Games published the games of the Italian publisher daVinci and since 2005 the games of the Dutch publisher Phalanx . The virtual University of Catan was created as a contact point for Catan players in the USA . In 2008 Mayfair Games hosted the Catan World Championship at Gen Con Indy in Indianapolis . From 2013 Mayfair Games was the official distributor for Lookout Games in the USA.

On February 9, 2018, Mayfair Games announced that it had sold all of its assets to the North American arm of Asmodée Editions and is now ceasing to operate.
