McGill University Institute of Islamic Studies

The Institute of Islamic Studies at McGill University in Montreal ( Quebec , Canada ) was founded in 1952 together with the Islamic Studies Library (ISL) and has been located on the main campus of McGill University in Morrice Hall since 1983.

The institution founded by Wilfred Cantwell Smith (1916–2000) is the first institute for Islamic Studies in North America . It has extensive human and financial resources.
