The McLaren MP4 / 10 was a Formula 1 racing car and the racing car used by McLaren Racing in the 1995 Formula 1 World Championship . The chassis was designed by Neil Oatley , and the McLaren was powered by a Mercedes engine for the first time. The Mercedes-Benz 3.0 V10 engine replaced the Peugeot 3.5 V10 from last season. The new Mercedes-Benz FO110 developed around 700 hp .
Mika Häkkinen and Nigel Mansell were planned as regular drivers. However, Mansell had seating problems and was represented by Mark Blundell at the start of the season. After the 4th Grand Prix, Mansell gave up and passed the cockpit to Blundell. At the Grand Prix of the Pacific , the test driver Jan Magnussen took Mika Hakkinen.
