Melchior Volmar
Melchior Volmar (also: Melchior Rufus Volmar , called Roth or Rot; also: Melior Volmarius ; * 1497 in Rottweil ; † August 1, 1560 in Isny ) was a lawyer and philologist.
Volmar taught Greek in Orléans. A follower of Luther himself, he inspired Johannes Calvin in Orléans for humanistic studies. Volmar later taught as a professor at the University of Tübingen .
In 1529, at the age of 10 , he took Theodor Beza into his care and instructed him in the humanities. He later developed into one of the most influential Swiss reformers.
