A memorial building is a building whose main function is to commemorate a historical event or one or more historical personalities. Some sub-terms of the term “memorial building” are triumphal arch , victory monument , memorial , votive building , tomb , mausoleum , martyrion . An example of memorial buildings is the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin .
