Mercedes Cabrera

Mercedes Cabrera (born December 3, 1953 in Madrid ) is a Spanish political scientist and politician of the PSOE .

Life

Cabrera studied Political Science and Sociology at the Complutense University of Madrid . Since 1996 she has been working as a professor specializing in the history of political theories at this university. Since 2004 she has been a member of the Spanish Congress ( Cortes Generales ). From 2006 to 2009 she was Minister of Education in the Zapatero I and Zapatero II cabinets . Cabrera is married to Carlos Arenillas and has two children.
