White moves and wins

Template: checkerboard / maintenance / new

Solution:

1. Ta1 – a8 + Kc8 – c7
2. Ra8xd8 Bg3 – h4 +
3. Ke7 – e8 Lh4xd8
4. Lc1 – f4 + Kc7 – c8
5. Nc4 – d6 + Kc8 – c7
After 6. Nd6 – f7 + Kc7 – c8 the bishop is taboo 7. Nf7xd8? Stalemate and 6. Bf4 – g3? Bd8 – h4! or 6. Bf4 – e5? Bd8 – f6! only lead to a draw .
6. Bf4 – h2! Pressure to act . Now the black bishop and the game are lost, because the bishop and knight checkmate . For example, after 6.… Bd8 – f6 or Bd8 – g5, the knight takes the black bishop by chess 7. Nd6 – e4 + and after 6.… Bd8 – h4 through 7. Nd6 – f5 +, after other moves the white king picks him up .

Private

Bent also did various sports such as half marathons and tennis. After the Second World War he worked for a time in rubber plantations in Malaya. He was married to Viola . Most recently he lived in Inkpen Common (Berkshire). In 2004 he had a fatal accident.
