Michael Liekmeier

Michael Liekmeier (born July 22, 1970 in Salzkotten ) is a former German bobsleigh driver, he was active as a member of the German national team from 1992 to 1998.

His greatest successes in Dirk Wiese's four-man bobsleigh were the silver medal at the 1997 World Championships in St. Moritz , the bronze medal at the 1995 European Championships in La Plagne and 1997 at Königssee, and a total of six World Cup victories (two times in Altenberg in 1993, Calgary 1994, St. Moritz 1995, Innsbruck 1996 and La Plagne 1996). Liekmeier was also nominated for the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, but took a place on the reserve bench as one of three replacement brakes.
