Career

Möllinger started ski jumping at the age of five at SC Hinterzarten . From the 1999/00 season he started, meanwhile a sports soldier in the Bundeswehr , for the first time in the Continental Cup. From the following season there were also sporadic appearances in the World Cup. In 2003 Möllinger fell out with the then national ski jumping coach Wolfgang Steiert , who had previously deleted him from the squad because of alleged discipline problems. Möllinger attributed this and the subsequent suspension by the DSV to his criticism of the coaching staff's diet plans. Together with Frank Löffler, he had publicly criticized the starvation methods in ski jumping, in particular of Wolfgang Steiert.

From the 2004/05 season he started for the Swiss Ski Association after he had received Swiss citizenship, supported by the nationality of his Swiss mother. He trained at SC Einsiedeln and was able to win the Swiss ski jumping championship on the normal hill in 2004 and 2005. Möllinger took part in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin with the Swiss team . In the individual competitions he reached 13th place on both the normal and the large hill . In the team competition on the large hill, he achieved 7th place together with Simon Ammann , Guido Landert and Andreas Küttel . After a collateral ligament tore in December 2007, his knee was too damaged to continue doing competitive sports. Therefore Möllinger announced his resignation on October 21, 2008.

In 2012 Möllinger started on Monte Kaolino in Hirschau, Bavaria , to set up a fun park on the subject of e-mobility , in which trips with e-motorcycles and Segway are offered. The Amberg-based company PT Pro , of which Möllinger is co-managing director, sells e-vehicles and tours.
