Michael Noss

Michael Noss (born December 26, 1955 in Bergneustadt ) is a German Baptist pastor , management consultant , author and musician. In May 2015 he was elected President of the Federation of Evangelical Free Churches (BEFG). Both Baptist and Brethren congregations belong to the free church congregation association .

Life

Michael Noss studied Protestant theology from 1975 to 1980 at the Theological Seminary of the BEFG , which at that time was still based in Hamburg-Horn . After further years of study at the University of Hamburg , he completed a three-year vicariate as a pastor in the initial service in the Evangelical Free Church in Bochum, Hermannshöhe . He received his recognition as pastor of the BEFG in 1984.

In 1987 Michael Noss was appointed youth pastor of the Evangelical Free Churches Regional Association Berlin (West) and from 1990 for Berlin and Brandenburg. Since 1991 he has been pastor of the Evangelical Free Church Community of Berlin-Schöneberg ( Hauptstrasse ), which with a total of over 800 members is one of the largest German Baptist communities. In addition to his pastoral work, Noss has been working as a management consultant and coach for executives since the mid-1990s. Since 1997 he has also been on the advisory board of the Christian Berlin-Brandenburger Rundfunk Radio Paradiso , which he chaired from 1997 to 2015.

The delegates of the BEFG Federal Council Conference 2015, which took place from May 14th to 16th in Kassel, elected Michael Noss with 80.9 percent of the votes as the new President of the Free Church Association. His predecessor in office was Pastor Hartmut Riemenschneider . At the Federal Council in Berlin in 2017, Noss was confirmed in his office with 89.4 percent.

Michael Noss is married and has three children.
