Michael Roof

Michael Roof (born November 24, 1976 in Tampa , Florida , † June 9, 2009 in Snellville , Georgia ) was an American film actor .

Life

Michael Roof was born to Michael Roof, Sr. and Jean Tillett at MacDill Air Force Base , Tampa, and grew up with four siblings, two brothers and two sisters. Roof began acting relatively late compared to many of his peers, first appearing in 2000 in the sketch comedy hype . Due to the lack of success, the production of the series was discontinued after 17 episodes.

Roof then moved to Hollywood , where he made his breakthrough in 2001 when he appeared in a supporting role in Ridley Scott's war film Black Hawk Down . In 2002 he stood in front of the camera for the action film xXx - Triple X. Roof's career was limited to supporting roles, however, his last film role he took in 2005 in A Duke Seldom Comes Alone . In 2006 Roof developed the reality show Raising the Roofs , in which he satirically illuminated the life of his father.

When the series was discontinued after six episodes, Roof withdrew from acting into private life. He moved to Snellville, Georgia, got married and had three sons with his wife Megan.

On June 9, 2009, Roof committed suicide by hanging himself. He had suffered from bipolar disorder for years and had financial difficulties.

Michael Roof is buried in Dunnellon, Florida.
