Michael Rozario

Michael Rozario (born January 18, 1926 in Solepur, † March 18, 2007 in Dhaka ) was Archbishop of Dhaka in Bangladesh .

Life

Michael Rozario was ordained a priest on December 22, 1956 .

On September 5, 1968 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. appointed Bishop of Dinajpur . He was ordained bishop by the Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Pakistan , Archbishop Costante Maltoni , on December 8 of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Dacca, Theotonius Amal Ganguly CSC , and the former Bishop of Dinajpur, Giuseppe Obert PIME .

On December 17, 1977 he was appointed Archbishop of Dacca (from 1982: Dhaka). For many years he was chairman of the Bishops' Conference of Bangladesh (CBCB).

On July 9, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
