Michael Sladek (* 1946 in Murrhardt ) is a German doctor, environmental activist and green electricity entrepreneur living in Schönau in the Black Forest .

Life

Michael Sladek is the son of a lawyer and a PhD in philosophy. He made his Abitur at the grammar school in Backnang , where he met his future wife Ursula in the 11th grade . He studied medicine from 1966 to 1972 at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau , married in 1969 in this city, then was a medical assistant in Schopfheim until 1973 , after which he went on “apprenticeship and wandering years”. In 1977 he set up his own practice as a general practitioner in Schönau in the Black Forest , and in 1984 he opened a group practice with an internist.

After the Chernobyl disaster in 1986, he became known for his idea of ​​a system for generating electricity from distributed mini- power plants, independent of nuclear power plants. This system, which combines a strategy of efficiency with the generation of electricity from renewable energy sources and combined heat and power plants , made it possible to cover the electricity needs of the city of Schönau in the Black Forest completely self-sufficiently. On the basis of his initiative, supported by his wife and friends, the EWS Schönau finally came into being . The city of Schönau in the Black Forest became the first municipality to be completely independent of the generation of nuclear power. The EWS now offer “clean” electricity throughout Germany.

Since October 6th, 2009 Michael Sladek has been active in a leading position in the citizens' initiative Energie in Bürgerhand, which he co-founded . He is also at BürgerEnergie Berlin , a cooperative i. G. on the planned takeover of the Berlin electricity network since 2014 and a. active together with Lukas Beckmann . Since 2014 he has been a member of the supervisory board of Bündnis Bürgerenergie eV

At the end of 2014 he retired from the operational business of EWS and handed over the management to his sons.
